About the Author
Love After a Stroke is Megan Nosol's first children's book, but she also co-authored an textbook for English teachers called America’s Unseen Kids. As a mother and former medical-based speech-language pathologist, she wrote this book with her own children in mind. Although she does not have any family members who have aphasia, Megan often thinks about how she would explain this complicated communication disorder to her curious, young sons.
Megan's hope for Love After a Stroke is to provide comfort and improved understanding to children and their families as they learn to navigate aphasia and life after stroke. She also encourages people with aphasia to write as a form of communication, for enjoyment, and for therapy. Relationships with children and family are too important to let communication problems get in the way. The Illustrator, Robert M. Henry Love After a Stroke was illustrated by the talented, Robert M. Henry. His art has allowed this book to come to fruition, and Megan is forever grateful to him for his time, effort, and patience. Plus, he is the nicest Duke fan she knows.
